IeGO's AC-01 series Basic Specs:

1. 99.99% pure silver: Higher than 99.99% purity silver is used for AC-01AG series sockets, and now directly plated with gold to prevent silver tarnish from forming. No longer will the tarnish be formed on the silver pins itself.
2. Gold plated 99.99% pure copper: Higher than 99.99% purity copper with direct gold plating is used for AC-01GU.
3. Forged powder metal process: Precision forged powder metal manufacturing process allows excellent surface uniformity (better contacts!).
4. Cryo treated: Main metal pins are cryo treated for 22 hours at -240C/-400F for better performance.
5. Polycarbonate housing: Impact and flame resistant polycarbonate is used for AC-01 series' housing, instead of the more fragile nylon or other plastics.
6. Easy mounting: High quality silver plated copper ring terminals are included for easy solderless mounting. (Crimp wire on ring terminal and then solder the crimp is recommended for even better performance, but no soldering should be done on the socket itself).

How do you install IeGO's R301 series sockets?

Mounting IeGO AC-01 is simple, basically any machines that uses standard IEC R-301 type connector can use it to directly replace the original IEC socket. I could not find IeGO's original mechanical drawing, but this is designed with international R-301 standard in mind, so that anyone's R-301 drawing would almost sufficiently describe the details. ;)


What should you do and not do during installation?
• NO SOLDERING: No soldering allowed on the AC-01AG or AC-01GU socket itself, it is very difficult to do so, and can easily damage the socket in most cases. Will VOID warranty if soldering is attempted on the socket.
• Use R-Terminals: Use the Ring terminals included in the package, you can crimp the wire you use onto the terminal and solder the crimp connection before it is attached to the socket.
• Use Screws: Use the screws included in the package to attach the ring terminal onto the socket, please watch out for any possible shorts when you do so. Insulate or remove any components that could possibly cause short later on.
• Double check: Double, triple, quadrouple check for any possible mistakes, with power circuits, there's never anything wrong with being too careful.


With that said, here's a link to RichBay's drawing http://chinese.richbay.com.tw/pdimage/2o4717.jpg , please pay attention to the screw spacing, which is 40mm center to center. If your machine's IEC socket looks like our AC-01AG or AC-01GU, and the mounting screw is spaced exactly 40mm apart, then you are most likely to be able to use our product effortlessly.

Warning:
Do not attempt to install AC-01 yourself if you do not have any experience dealing with AC power. Because AC power can become deadly very easily, sloppy wiring, incorrect wiring, and any other little mistakes and details cannot be overlooked when dealing with such power. If you are not sure about your skill when dealing with AC power, please ask someone experienced to professionally install it for you.


Warranty:
IeGO standard 5 year warranty, as long as the product failed within 5 years normal use, we will gladly replace it free of charge.
Exceptions and what's not considered as normal use? Natural disaster, act of God, abuse or abnormal use, and soldering or related marks that hinted soldering had been done on AC-01.

Soldering is strictly prohibited on AC-01, we recommend that you use the mounting hardware included to secure your cable to AC-01, it is not only very simple, but also very safe. We prohibit soldering on AC-01 is that due to the extraordinary conductivity of both pure copper and pure silver, it is very difficult to solder anything on without melting the plastic housing while you are at it. If you melt the housing, then you would have compromised the structure integrity of AC-01 and thus we cannot provide any warranty on it. You can ignore this and solder it on, but please remember that this is NOT a good idea, and could potentially lead to damage of AC-01 and/or your equipment. Not to mention you'd be voiding a very cool 5 year warranty. ;)
